Some chemical elements are copper, nickel, zinc, gold, hydrogen, and magnesium. A chemical element is matter made up of only one type of atom. There are four types of chemical elements. One of the types is Metals. Three examples of Metals are making steel magnets, or airplane parts and flashbulbs, or switches, thermostats, and lamps. Metals are usually reflective and can be formed into various shapes. They are good conductors of power.
Another type of chemical element is Nonmetals. Nonmetals make paper, fertilizer, and paints. Most Nonmetals have properties opposite to metals. Nonmetals are not reflective and can’t be formed into shapes. Semimetals have properties of both the Metals and Nonmetals. For example some Semimetals are reflective and can’t be changed. Semimetals make radio parts and borax.
Noble Gasses are helium, neon, and argon. What they do is fill up balloons and blimps. They also light signs, light bulbs, and lasers. Noble Gases are elements that don’t combine readily with Metals, Nonmetals, and Semimetals. The four types of chemical elements are Semimetals, Nonmetals, Metals, and Noble Gases. That’s what chemical elements are.
